DESCRIPTION:We have one of our favorite events of the year coming up on November 26 – our annual wreath making event at SOHS Hanley Farm! Just in time to craft a beautiful wreath to adorn your door (or any other spot you deem worthy of adornment) for the holiday season! \n  \nWe provide all the materials you need for a natural wreath: grapevines or fruitwood bases\, a wide variety of greenery\, cones and berries\, and wire. And of course you are welcome to bring ribbon\, flowers or any other special touches you might want to add to your wreath. \n  \nWreath making kits are $15 for SOHS members and $20 for others. \n  \nEntry to the farm is free and we’ll have hot drinks and fun for the kids AND Santa will be joining us! DESCRIPTION:Victorian Christmas at Beekman House\nLearn how holiday traditions have changed!  Every Saturday and Sunday from November 26 through December 18\, you’re invited to experience how Christmas was celebrated during the late 1800s when you tour the 1873 C.C. Beekman House Museum\, located at 470 E. California Street in Jacksonville\, Oregon\, and home to Jacksonville’s wealthiest pioneer family. \nLearn about the many cultures that contributed to the Christmas celebration we know.  Find the good luck German pickle ornament on the Christmas tree.  Sing a Christmas carol.  Steal a kiss under the mistletoe.  Hear about presents the Beekmans exchanged.  Sample one of Mrs. Beekman’s sugar cookies.  And visit Mrs. Beekman’s Christmas Bazaar for toys\, crafts\, collectibles\, holiday items\, and popular Victorian era gifts. \nVictorian costumed docents will be offering these holiday house tours every 20 minutes between 12 noon and 3 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.  Tour tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Reservations are required.  Bazaar admission is free.   \nTour groups are limited to 8 persons and tickets can be purchased below!  Tours are NOT recommended for children under age 6. \nAnd make sure to check in 5 minutes before your tour.  At that time any unclaimed reservation will be offered to “walk ups.” Walk ups will be accommodated based on space available.   \nAll Historic Jacksonville\, Inc. proceeds help preserve Jacksonville’s historic buildings and expand historic program offerings. \nPurchase Tickets \n e-mail info@historicjacksonville.org or call 541-245-3650 for assistance.
