Notice of Public Hearing Regarding code updates for Parking & Tree Removal
The City of Jacksonville Planning Commission is holding a public hearing to review the Citizen Advisory Committee’s recommended code updates to parking standards and the tree removal process.
July 12th, 2023, 6:00 PM
206 N Fifth St, City Hall, Second Floor Assembly Room
Parking: Recent regulations from DLCD mandate cities reexamine on-site parking requirements required for new development. These reforms mandate certain assisted living or shelter facilities are no longer required to provide on-site parking, as well as require at most 1 parking space per unit for multi-unit developments.
Tree removal: In light of SB 762 and recent wildfires, citizens may wish to create more defensible and fire-wise
spaces. These reforms increase the overall efficiency of the process, including adding specific nuisance species.
