Join us for an evening of information and skill-building from a local woodworker, Jerry Pendzick! Jerry will demonstrate many varied methods for sharpening knives and also offer tips on sharpening tools for woodworking.  Please bring a non-serrated, dull knife for a hands-on experience with this new skill.

Presenter: Jerry Pendzick

“As a youngster, I was taught the basics of woodworking with my father. Growing up, I had little time for the craft, as my time in the military didn’t allow for much woodworking. I began working with wood in 1986, and had some success building tables, desks, and stools. In 1996 I decided that I wanted formal training, so I enrolled in Palomar College’s Cabinet and Furniture Technology Program. Completing the program in 2000, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for the next 16 years. I was able to master many different woodworking skills, including tool sharpening. I specialized in construction of Early American Chairs.”
