Jacksonville-Applegate Rotary Winery Poker Run

September 9, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Join us for our Second Annual Jacksonville-Applegate Rotary Winery Poker Run on Friday, September 9, 3-7pm, or Saturday, September 10, 1-7pm!

Participants (Players) will simply purchase poker card(s) at any seven of the nine Jacksonville wine tasting rooms on Friday, September 9 or Saturday, September 10. Players will progressively play their hands at each winery and fill-in the cards. Winners will be announced at the Rotary BBQ (cost of $20) at Rellik Winery, on Sunday, September 11, between 1-3pm. Attendees will enjoy music by the Danielle Kelly Soul Project. There are 3 incredible top prizes for the best hands (don’t have to be present to win) and during the Sunday BBQ we will randomly pull cards from the unfortunate losing hands and give away lots of fun gifts (must be present to win). Visit us at www.rotarypokerrun.com for prizes and further details.
Your Jacksonville-Applegate Rotary Club is here to serve the community! While we seem to be well known for our international water projects in Tanzania, Africa, Jalisco, Mexico and Guatemala, we also have a long and rich history of local projects. The famous motto of Rotary Clubs throughout the world is, “Service Above Self.” And your little club takes that commitment very seriously. Not only do we support many local projects financially, we are hands-on too.
In recent years, members of the Jacksonville Applegate Rotary Club have joined the Boy Scouts Troup #17 for their food drive, put in a garden for education at Jacksonville Elementary School, built a chicken coop at Hanley Farms, painted the fence at Beekman House, adopted three JV Cemetery blocks, as well as numerous projects at Ruch Elementary School including safety road signs, and Christmas gifts for economically challenged families in Ruch. The club also helps Britt Music and Arts Festival with their annual spring clean-up and popcorn sales at every single concert.
Up until the pandemic hit, our club members faithfully showed up at Jackson Elementary School in Medford every Friday to pack-up nutritious meals for students in need of food security. Recently, this program was turned over to ACCESS with continued support from our Club and other Rogue Valley Rotary Clubs. Also, during the pandemic, we manufactured sanitizers and sewed masks for Pioneer Village.
And each year, we provide a 4-year college scholarship for one deserving student in the Rogue Valley. The list goes on and on…
This update is to remind our community that all of the proceeds from the second annual Jacksonville-Applegate Rotary Poker Run event will go toward local projects.
The Rotary Club’s next big local project scheduled for September 17, is the Beekman House picket fence—hard to believe that it has been a decade since local Rotarians painted that white fence! Time to get to work. See ad this page.
