On Saturday, October 10, from 10:30am-3pm, we officially open Jacksonville’s new History Center inside the beautifully restored 1881 Old City Hall. This is the hub of our “Citywide Museum,” the doorway into Jacksonville’s full story—from Indigenous history and the Gold Rush to the Chinese Quarter, civic life, and the preservation movement that saved the town. Step inside and explore interactive exhibits, touchable artifacts, AI narration, QR-linked stories, and the five themes that frame Jacksonville’s past: The Land, The Gold Rush, Merchants & Makers, Government, and Town Life.
